GSE builds medical equipment factory

Having learnt the lessons of the Covid-19 pandemic, Medicom reinvested in 2021 the site of the decomissioned Arjowiggins factory in Bessé-sur-Braye, between Tours and Le Mans. The brownfield, shut down in March 2019, was identified as a suitable site for ManiKHeir, France’s first production plant for single-use nitrile gloves for healthcare centres and sensitive industries. Entrusted to GSE, the redevelopment & renovation project required a total investment of €88 million, including €20 million for the reconstruction of a real estate complex covering more than 17,000 m².

The site, inaugurated on 18 April 2024, has four “industry 4.0” production lines with a total capacity of more than 900 million gloves a year. It has already recruited more than 150 employees since June 2022.
