GSE launches construction works for McPhy’s new Gigafactory.
McPhy has commissioned the GSE Group to build a new 22,000m² facility in Belfort through a turnkey engineering contract. This upcoming electrolyzer production plant, unique in Europe, is expected to start operations in the first half of 2024. It has been planned with BIM technology to optimize its layout and operation.
The plant’s design, created by the Unanime architectural firm in collaboration with GSE, focuses on dynamic architecture, innovation, environmental consideration, and employee well-being, utilizing materials such as metal and wood. The site will include eco-friendly features such as a hybrid boiler, solar panels, a meadow, vegetable gardens, and will contribute to the local green network.
These green initiatives aim to achieve the HQE Excellent level certification and the E3C1 label, underlining the project’s environmental respect and low carbon impact of the construction and operation of the new plant.
