GSE hands over a new parcel logistics hub in Toulouse to DPD and La Poste Immobilier

In Toulouse, GSE handed over a new parcel logistics hub to La Poste subsidiary DPD France and to the postal group’s real estate arm La Poste Immobilier. The delivery service is relocating its Toulouse operations to a larger, better situated site, more suited to its current and future needs. The new building will enable the brand to provide rapid transport, collection and delivery of small parcels, while meeting the requirements of growing demand.

The 6,255 m2 project – including 5,653 m2 of operational space and 602 m2 of offices – is ideally located on the Oncopole campus in the Toulouse metropolitan area, with direct access to the city’s ring road and motorway network. Built on requalified industrial brownfield, the project is an example of GSE’s solutions for optimising land use and addressing the challenge of net zero soil sealing.

The building is green by design, as attested by its BREEAM Very Good certificate. Its solar farm generates energy, while its Building Management System (BMS) ensures performance and frugality. The emphasis was also on the future occupants’ thermal comfort, given the project’s location on the occasionally scorching hot plains of southwestern France.

The site encourages alternative modes of transport, with electric vehicle charging points and amenities for cyclists. An environmental engineer helped address the site’s risks and opportunities in terms of biodiversity.
