DSV Logistics, a Danish transport and logistics specialist, chose French global contractor GSE to build its new logistics facility in Baibu, Haiyan City, Zhejiang Province, China. With more than 20 years’ experience in the country, GSE’s knowledge of the Chinese economic and institutional ecosystem, as well as its expertise, tipped the balance in the company’s favour.

The new logistics facility, designed jointly by GSE and Shanghai New Construction Architectural Design Co. Ltd., will comprise two double storey ramp-up ambient warehouses of circa 32,300 sqm NRA (classification C2), a circa 6,700 sqm NRA dangerous goods (classification C1) single storey warehouse, and a four-floor office of circa 1,200 sqm NRA.

The entire platform’s stylish architecture, including colourful facades that reflect the company’s standards & image, will make the facility a reference in the region for modern logistics centres.

Aiming for a LEED Gold rating, the building will have solar panels over its whole roof, enabling it to achieve energy neutrality by producing as much power as it consumes.

DSV chose GSE as its development partner for its first self-financed campus in China. GSE identified several plots of land, produced multiple concepts, and delivered feasibility studies for each site, taking into account the investment conditions set by the authorities. This enabled GSE to produce development appraisals for the properties.
