GSE starts construction of Europe’s largest dental aligner factory

BIOTECH DENTAL has chosen commercial real estate and logistics specialist GSE to build its new production unit in Salon-de-Provence, between Marseille and Avignon. It will produce SMILERS orthodontic aligners for the French leader in the market for dental implants, dental prostheses and medical devices dedicated to orthodontics.

 

With a total surface area of 2,875 m², on a 10,000 m² plot of land, this new three-storey building complex will include a 1,000 m² workshop and 1,875 m² of office space. The building, based on a high-level design by EMH ARCHITECTES, will have its workshop and part of the offices fitted with translucent cladding to optimise natural lighting.  A 60 m² glass roof will also provide natural light in the centre of the workshop – creating an open and bright space to increase wellbeing.

 

In addition, the site’s amenities will include a 300 m² wood terrace, landscaping in the reception area, two cafeterias for employees and a training room. The workshop will be maintained at a constant temperature to preserve the calibration of the 3D printers – with an even distribution of heat/cooling through fabric HVAC ducts.

 

The new BIOTECH DENTAL factory will include four production lines comprising 3D printers and thermoforming & finishing tools. It will be Europe’s largest production centre for aligners, owned & operated by a European company. The factory will eventually create 300 jobs and will achieve the highest standards of environmental performance.
